Spyder Environmental was contracted to perform a full fentanyl decontamination at a unit within a multifamily apartment complex that exhibited widespread contamination from fentanyl—a synthetic opioid with extremely high toxicity—
posing serious risks to future occupants, maintenance personnel, and emergency responders.
Spyder technicians utilized approved neutralizing agents and HEPA-filtered equipment to treat all affected surfaces and contents. Due to contamination in the HVAC system, the entire AC unit and associated ductwork were safely removed and disposed of. Crews followed strict safety protocols, including the use of full PPE such as P100 respirators and disposable suits, to mitigate exposure risks during the process.
