Job Description

FOREMAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all assigned projects, including but not limited to subcontractor management, site safety, and quality assurance. Furthermore, the Foreman is responsible for working directly with property owners, property occupants, and all personnel associated with the property management company throughout the entirety of the project to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent Spyder Construction with professionalism and honesty. Serve as the contact on-site to answer all questions regarding the contracted scope of work being performed, schedule, and the overall status of the project.
  • Gain an understanding of the plans and specifications as they relate to the overall contract scope of work for each project. Communicate any discrepancies or potential issues with the assigned Superintendent.
    • Attend a Pre-Construction Scope Walk with the Superintendent to identify the site plan and execute proper site setup and laydown.
    • Provide trade partners with assistance with associated layouts (framing, flooring, site work, etc.) and plan set interpretation.
    • Provide site coordination and trade task management to avoid trade stacking and sequencing inefficiencies.
  • Keep the assigned Superintendent informed of progress and potential challenges that are being observed on-site.
  • Support the Superintendent with the management of the 3-week Look Ahead Schedule (LAS) to ensure timely project completion of all milestones.
  • Support all relevant project documentation and information via the RFI process, photos, punch lists, and share with the project Superintendent. Maintain and save all relevant information on Dropbox.
  • Assist with the completion and management of punch-list items through construction start and close-out.
  • Directly supervise all project labor, and ensure proper workmanship, code compliance, and quality standards.
  • Maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with our vendor network.
  • Assist with scheduling all field inspections per the managing municipality requirements.
  • Adhere to all Spyder Construction, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Complete and log daily site safety inspections.
  • Ensure all projects are clean and organized during all phases of construction.
  • Manage the storage of all materials for the project.
  • Ensure maintenance of roll-off and temporary restroom facilities.
  • Works towards building an in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and construction methodologies.
  • Willing to engage in manual labor, tasks, and other activities as needed.
